Welcome, you have reached the official website for Karl Jones, the lead singer, guitarist and song writer for Mac Seoin (Mak-shōn).  This is Sedona based recording artist hails from Dublin and regularly returns to the Emerald Isle with past appearances and performances on Irish Radio & Television to his credit.

His band Mac Seoin is an up to seven piece ensemble based in Sedona that performs regularly in Northern Arizona.  For the band Karl has drawn together a variety of outstanding musicians alternating the lineup according to the size and needs of various venues. The full line-up consists of: Karl Jones on Acoustic Guitar, Bouzouki, Tyrell Sweeten from Hawaii on Electric guitar, Jonathan Miller (Cirque du Soleil) violin, Aaron Tyler (First place Telluride bluegrass festival) on Mandolin, and supporting vocalist Keri Hennessy.  MacSoein also adds Habib a middle eastern style dancer (Letterman show) to some of their performances.  U2, Van Morrison & The Pogues are reference points for the music. They play a Rnb funky,  and soulful variance of Irish Folk Rock.  Modal Celtic melodies echo powerfully in their music with an awesome rhythm section provided by Eddie Barrattini (drums, Richie Havens), Three trees (percussion) and Jimmie Mac (bass). 

Their eclectic repertoire includes traditional Irish Ballads, drinking songs and jigs.  Like The Pogues, Karl also seeks to preserve the time honored storytelling ballad tradition as an ongoing element within their performances and recordings.
